An average person will sleep over 220,000 hours in their lifetime. This information alone tells us how important this part of our life is. Despite the fact that we spend around one-third of our life sleeping, many of us find it really hard to spend any more money than we really need to on our beds. Most of us don’t think twice before buying a new car, but when it’s time to buy a new pillow we look to save money.
“Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.”
–Thomas Dekker
Humans are built in a way that makes our life impossible without sleeping. We’d literally die if we wouldn’t sleep. Based on experimental researches one can go up to 11 days without sleep before he/she would actually die. Luckily we normally fall asleep long before that.
When we sleep our body regenerates and prepares us for the next day’s challenges. Every disease is best cured while we sleep. It’s pretty amazing the way our body is built – we just have to lay down, close our eyes and let it do the trick.
